We’re excited to welcome Miranda Hawkes as our newest member of the LTWC staff team! Miranda joined LTWC in October 2018 as our part-time Stormwater Drafter and Designer for the Urban Waters & Wildlife Program. In this role she will focus on drafting support for voluntary stormwater retrofit projects using AutoCAD software and will also have opportunities to provide design input. She’ll work closely with our Urban Waters & Wildlife Program Manager, Sarah Whitney.
As the daughter of a career Forest Service employee, Miranda spent her childhood surrounded by nature, which instilled strong ideals related to the value of recreation and environmental stewardship. She came to Oregon for college and holds degrees in architecture and landscape architecture fom the University of Oregon (B. Arch 2011, MLA 2015). Much of her coursework focused on water systems and human impacts on our environment; she is excited to apply this academic focus in her work with the Council. Miranda brings several years of professional design experience to the position and shares her time with a residential landscape architecture firm in Eugene. When not working, Miranda enjoys spending time outdoors, especially camping, hiking or gardening. She unwinds by cooking and bread making also dabbles in landscape photography and various fine art media.
