Watch this short video by Oregon Lottery highlighting the work of LTWC and regional partners to restore rare wet prairie habitats!

Wet prairie is rich in biodiversity and provide essential ecosystem services; it’s also incredibly rare, with only about eight square miles remaining in the entire Willamette Valley. Wet prairie has co-evolved since time immemorial with humans through Indigenous stewardship, especially the use of cultural fire, and our partners Ecostudies Institute and the regional all Indigenous burn crew are collaborating to return good fire to these landscapes. Thanks to LTWC Uplands Program Manager Abby Colehour and ODFW Willamette Wildlife Mitigation Program Manager Kelly Reis for their contributions to this video!
Oregon Lottery dollars are a major source of grant funding through the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board, which provided grants for projects for both ODFW-owned Coyote Creek units mentioned in the video.
