Please stay safe and well everyone!
LTWC’s March public community meeting will be all about western pond turtles! These native reptiles inhabit the streams, rivers, and ponds of the watershed and are a species of concern in Oregon. City of Eugene ecologist Lauri Holts and ODFW wildlife biologist Chris Yee will discuss pond turtle life history, habitat requirements, population trends, and how to identify pond turtles. They will also highlight the importance of the Long Tom Watershed and surrounding area to western pond turtle conservation. LTWC will also share information about restoration projects to improve turtle habitat and discuss conservation actions property owners can do on their own.
Due to recent developments and recommendations around the COVID-19 situation, LTWC has decided to cancel this public meeting. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns: info@longtom.org.
