Collaborative Partnerships

Our work depends upon strong partnerships. In addition to partnering with neighbors and landowners throughout our service area, we also partner with numerous local and regional entities including municipal governments, state and county agencies, private foundations, and local nonprofit partners. The Long Tom is part of the Willamette River system, and its council is a part of that same larger system of interconnection and mutual support.

The Upper Willamette Stewardship Network (UWSN) is a highly collaborative “Impact Network” formed in 2017 to work together on growing the scale of impact in our shared and overlapping geographies. You can learn more about each of these strong partners by clicking on their logo to visit their website.

Since 2008 the Long Tom Watershed Council has been a partner in the Willamette River Initiative: “a 10-year funding commitment from Meyer Memorial Trust to steer the Willamette River and its Tributaries toward a cleaner, healthier future.”

Now, after 10 years of successes, including being awarded the International Theiss River Prize, the WRI is emerging in a new form as a basin wide Willamette River Network. You can learn more about this exciting transition at Meyer Memorial Trust’s Willamette River Initiative Website.

RIVERS TO RIDGES PARTNERSHIP

The Rivers to Ridges Partnership is dedicated to improving the quality of life for residents in the upper Willamette Valley by working together to protect and enhance the region’s land and water resources and their ecosystem functions and values; and to provide environmental education and compatible outdoor recreation opportunities as outlined in the Rivers to Ridges Metropolitan Regional Parks and Open Space Study — Vision and Strategies document. The vision of the Rivers to Ridges Partnership is further refined in the Willamette River Vision and Action Plan and the Ridgeline Vision and Action Plan.
