One of the largest environmental film festivals is back! The Wild & Scenic Film Festival, presented by the Upper Willamette Stewardship Network (Coast Fork Willamette Watershed Council, Friends of Buford Park & Mt. Pisgah, Long Tom Watershed Council, McKenzie River Trust, McKenzie Watershed Council, Middle Fork Willamette Watershed Council), works with nonprofits across the globe to host the film festival as a way to reach out to communities and bring together a diverse audience. The goal is to use film to inspire people to help the lands and rivers that surround us. This year’s theme is a tour around the world where viewers will check out local heroes from all over the globe and how they have been making their communities and environment more resilient.
The link to buy tickets for this year’s virtual festival is qudio.com/event/UWSN. Proceeds this year will benefit fire recovery, preparedness, and post-fire restoration efforts in the McKenzie River basin and throughout the Upper Willamette.
