Self-Guided Stormwater Tour, Part of August Willamette River Festival

This year’s Willamette River Festival features a self-guided stormwater tour that includes two LTWC Trout Friendly Landscape Projects!

The City of Eugene and other local partners, including McKenzie River Trust and WREN are hosting the fifth annual Willamette River Festival later this month from August 21 – 28. Two of our business partners — First Christian Church (west of Oak Alley & 12th Ave.) and The Monroe Building (NW corner of 5th and Monroe) are included in the seven stop stormwater tour. The Monroe Building was featured in our July newsletter. See the map below for all self-guided tour locations in downtown Eugene.

This tour highlights some of the projects created by the City of Eugene, LTWC, and private businesses that are helping clean our water before it flows to rivers and streams. These rain garden systems mimic nature by using plants and soil to filter, trap, and transform pollution that would otherwise wash into local waterways, including the Willamette River.

More information on the self-guided, bikeable stormwater tour is posted here to the City of Eugene’s website.
